tonite on abstract science
regular abstract science listeners should, by now, be familiar with the fascinating music and personage of alfred weisberg-roberts. performing in a white tuxedo with a customized wooden light-box controller daedelus fully embraces the role of the neo-victorian laptop eccentric. his music is the aural equivalent of a rube goldberg machine, drawing samples/loops (from hip hop, capeoria, children’s records, rave and beyond) and miraculously twisting them into compelling music. this performance is from the same night as the previous dosh live set, recorded at the empty bottle last fall.
