tonite on abstract science: PLAID

tonight at 10pm we are beyond excited to broadcast a special live performance by plaid. recorded at the empty bottle last april (one of our 10th anniversary celebrations), this set finds ed handley and andy turner in top form, dropping gems both new and old. we wish we could also feature the great visual work from filmmaker bob jeroc, but you'll have to see for yourselves. plaid is playing two shows in chicago this saturday, the first to kick off the "chill out" series at millenium park's museum of modern ice exhibit (sold out!) and a second set later that night at abbey pub. both shows should feature new music from their forthcoming album and new experiments by bob jaroc with reactive audio/visual software.

tonite on abstract science: dj dirtybird

this week abstract science is pleased to welcome into the studio,
genna greene aka dj dirtybird. "playing techno with sprinkles of house
here and there" as she says, at venues around chicago such as:
smartbar, zentra, & betty's blue star lounge. she has been djing for
seven years (with the naughty bad fun collective), producing for five,
and is busy working on new tracks for release on the Italobusiness,
zuvuya and siteholder labels. she's also playing at lava friday 11 january
w/gramaphone peeps and wake up! @ sonotheque with decimal on 17 january.
