recording artist and tigersushi label boss joakim bouaziz has made a name for himself as an enigmatic and influential figure (working behind the scenes with notables tiefschwartz, air, annie, and tiga). while 2007 saw a tidal wave of dancefloor bangers from his fellow parisians, joakim hit the water with his long-awaited second LP "monsters and silly songs" (on versatille/!k7): a comparatively introspective and original culmination of his obsession with disco, experimental rock (ala can and chrome), techno, fingers inc., 80s electro and pop music. it is an obsession that has been reflected in joakim's tiger sushi imprint since release number one paired a cut from 70s krautrock pioneers cluster with l.a.'s techno/house king john tejada on the flip. expect a similarly diverse, referential and dancefloor oriented dj set from this french musician and impresario.
