techno poster boy matthew dear’s wry vocal treatments may have won him massive acclaim in rock circles, but the backdrop of dancefloor minimalism has always been his bedrock. after the success of dear’s techno-pop adventures, 2005 was a return to a raw, churning, and no-holds barred warehouse sound as audion. recorded at sonotheque in the spring of 2006, here we find dear djing an appropriately minimal dancefloor set in his audion guise.
